Synopsis

Yumi (performed by Yuko Takeuchi) is a 23-year-old office worker, unexpectedly fired from her job. While rushing to an interview for part-time work at a publishing company, she wanders into a conference room where she encounters pop comic book artist Reijiro Sakurai (performed by Hiroshi Abe). He is planning to lock himself away at a hot spring for the next three months to concentrate on his next project.

Together with Reijiro's editing staff, Yumi decides to work as a caretaker for Reijiro at the hot spring. There she meets the proprietress of the hot spring who keeps up the values of "full-hearted hospitality" and "old time Japanese virtue". Dealing with many conflicts life can bring on, this story is about Yumi maturing as a woman and as a human being.
