Midnight Rain
Feeling
disgusted with the bureaucratic ways of University Hospital,
Takashi Tokura, a brilliant surgeon, joins the nationally
renowned staff of Izumida Hospital, after being recruited
by the hospital manager, Mr. Ando. At Izumida Hospital Tokura
feels his unique surgical expertise will be tested and utilized
the most.
On Tokura's first day at Izumida Hospital, an emergency patient
is suffering from the gun shot wound and is trying to be admitted.
It turns out this patient is a burglar who committed murder
and is shot by a female police detective, Yukiko Mizusawa.
Going against the orders of the Hospital Director, Keiichiro,
Tokura admits the patient and performs life saving surgery.

Tokura
and Yukiko find out that there was another guy at the accident
site 21 years ago, who went to the hospital three days after
the accident without any ID. Yukiko successfully gets this
man's chart. Keiichiro, the president of Izumida Hospital,
recovered from the surgery. When he was chatting with his
family, the manager Ando came with the papaers that was faxed
all over the hospital saying "Dr. Tokura is the son of
Keiichiro and Keiichiro's mistress." Keiichiro admitted
that it's true but it made the Izumida family suffer. His
daughter, Kaori, who has feelings for Tokura, is missing,
and his wife goes back to her parents' home. "Who would
write something like that? For what reason?" Tokura starts
to think it wasn't a coincidence that there are a lot of people
who were involved with that accident 21 years ago. So, Tokura
checks the hospital workers' health charts. At the same time,
Yukiko finds her father cold in his bed. Somebody kept the
window open in his room. For Mr. Miwa's condition, getting
cold could endanger his life. Fortunately, Mr. Miwa didn't
get affected by it, and Tokura continues his treatment hoping
Mr. Miwa will wake up. The Manager Ando, run into Mr. Miwa's
room expecting to see him in a bad condition, and is surprised
to see him opening his eyes. Tokura and Yukiko didn't miss
his expression. |

Tokura
and Yukiko feel confident that the manager Ando is involved
with the accident 21years ago after seeing him so surprised
to see Mr. Miwa awake. However, they decided to leave him
be for awhile longer to find out what his real purpose is.
Izumida Hospital was losing a lot of patients because they
cut the connections with Keimei University. While seeing his
hospital and family going down, Keiichiro cannot face reality.
After being witnessed by Tokura in Mr. Miwa's room, trying
to stop his air pomp, the manager Ando confessed that he caused
that accident 21 years ago, with tears in his eyes. He insisted
that it was just an accident. He was just trying to help Tokura's
mother's car out of the mud, and accidentally bumped into
a car coming from a different direction. He was only 17 years
old back then, and was afraid that the accident would ruin
his future, that's why he ran away. Tokura asked him to leave
the hospital, and never to come back. However, Ando comes
back to the hospital to kill Mr. Miwa. Tokura, who sensed
Ando hiding something, moved Mr. Miwa to a different room.
Ando then finds Tokura in the empty room. Ando has an injector
in his hand threatening Tokura to tell him where Mr. Miwa
is. Ando's father killed himself because Mr. Miwa, who was
his coworker, accused him of stealing the company's money.
It was Ando's revenge for his father's death. |
