Synopsis

Kai Yuuki (performed by Satoshi Tsumabuki) is a n average college senior who is majoring in social welfare psychology. But presently he still hasn't received an offer for work. Although he is encouraged by his gril friend Maho (performed by Manami Konishi), who is a year older, even she has become strangely sensitive when receiving messages from Kai concerning the outcome of his job interviews. Plus Maho is a graduate student and his senior at seminars. As for his college buddies, Keita Yashima (performed by Eita) has plenty of leeway with receiving countless offers for work, and Shohei (performed by Hiroyuki Narimiya) has no intentions of working a salary man.

One day while Kai was returning to the university after a job interview, he meets eye to eye with a woman playing a violin. After playing the violin she puts her hand out to Kai asking him for money. This would be the first meeting between Kai and Sae (performed by Kou Shibasaki). Kai's first impression would be "What's up with her?" At this moment Kai would have no idea that Sae lost her hearing 4 years ago due to illness.

Having a mother (performed by Jun Fubuki) who is a special ability at playing the violin since she was a child and enrolled in a university abroad. But due to losing her ability to hear, which is fatal to a violinist, Sae returned home dissapointed. She then decides to transfer to a university that her best friend from high school, Akane (performed by Miho Shiraishi), was attending. Being trapped in the shadow of sounds Sae's heart would also become trapped, closing off her heart to the world.

A few days later, Keita, who already has a job placement but without a girlfriend for all of his 22 years, is overjoyed. He was able to get a date with a girl he fell in love with at first sight. But on the day of the date, after Keita finds out that she is unable to hearm he has a change of mind and doesn't want to go through with it...
